Intellect Code is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and the development of internal control policies and procedures. Finance Controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management.
- Managing all finance and accounting operations.
- Coordinating and directing the budget preparation and financial forecasts and reporting variances.
- Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting transactions.
- Prepare budget forecasts.
- Manage the petty cash.
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
- Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Asset Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the budget preparation and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Monitor client job status ensure jobs are adequately opened and coordinate with management and other departments to ensure positions are timely closed upon final billing. Review and sign the last job costing upon job closing.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly and Weekly financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Support month-end and close year-end process.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Additional controller duties as necessary.
- Accountable for timely and complete client billing and monthly AR reporting and follow-up.
- Checking the Job costing.
- Marketing agency experience is a plus.
Requirements
Requirements and skills
- Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
- 3+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot table).
