CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS (18 to 35 years old) FOR KOYA AND QALAT DIZAH, IRAQ
The ProjectSearch for Common Ground (Search) Iraq is seeking two professional, motivated, and creative Young Researchers. Based in Koya/Qalat Dizah, Iraq, the young researchers will provide support to Search’s implementation role under IREX-led project Youth Excel in implementing Issue-Based Collaborative Networks (ICONs) in Koya (Erbil Governorate) and Qalat Dizah (Sulaymaniyah Governorate). This opportunity will provide experience and coaching in the field of peacebuilding, livelihoods, and youth engagement in Iraq and will ensure the development of tangible professional skills and networks. This is a two-month paid consultancy, starting in August 2021. Young Researchers will receive a $500 USD/month stipend during this period. Youth-led research in Koya and Qalat DizahSearch plans to conduct youth-led research in Koya and Qalat Dizah. Search would like to call on 2 young people (1 in Koya and 1 in Qalat Dizah) willing to participate in this research from conception to dissemination, more specifically the commitment of these two young Researchers is to participate in: five-day research training; five-day workshop to design the research; 10-day field data collection; five-day workshop for analysis, one-day workshop for the restitution and dissemination of the research QualificationsTo qualify, interested candidates must have the below noted qualifications: Kurdish nationality; At least 18 years old and no more than 35 years old; Reside in the locations of assignment (Koya or Qalat Dizah); Be fully available for the duration of the research - 2 months, including 5 days of training + 10 days of collection + 3 workshops Show a strong interest in youth engagement in decision-making around youth programs; Have an interest in research on youth-related conflict and gender Seriousness, integrity, and dynamism in the execution of tasks;Knowledge, Skills amp; Abilities: Possess in-depth knowledge of livelihood issues affecting youth in the KRI (especially in Koya and Qalat Dizah), such as gender barriers, political exclusion, and challenges facing youth from rural communities. Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment with minimal supervision Excellent speaking and writing skills in Kurdish High level of research, analytical, and critical thinking skills Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and/or quantitative data.
