Job Description
The Warehouse and Logistics section head is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of logistics, warehouse operations, inventory control, and transportation. This role involves coordinating and optimizing the storage and distribution of goods, ensuring efficiency in supply chain management, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The position must also lead a team of warehouse and logistics staff to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of products.
Requirements
· Developing and implementing logistics strategies to optimize warehouse efficiency
· Managing inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing costs
· Overseeing the receipt, storage, tracking, and distribution of goods in the warehouse
· Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies
· Analyzing data to monitor performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
· Coordinating with suppliers, carriers, and other partners to streamline logistics processes
· Leading and training warehouse staff to maintain a high level of productivity
· Implementing quality control measures to ensure accuracy in inventory management
· Developing budgets and controlling expenses related to logistics operations
- Develop and manage supply chain practices to ensure efficient procedures, minimized inventory levels, efficient lead time for goods ordered.
- Evaluate the Clearing of goods in terms of efficiency and lead time, recommend improvements.
- Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.
- Approve the purchases from the procurement department by ensuring that the orders are according to the stock cover policy.
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
- Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
- Maintain stock levels and stock availability to ensure the stock cover policy is maintained
- Ensure efficient warehouse operations policies and procedures are implemented across with no delays in the delivery process ensuring meeting the needs of the business.
- Ensure adequate inventory management controls are in place across the supply chain to minimize lost inventory.
- Control and monitor all annual stock counts for warehouse.
- Develop solutions amp; Controls for the location, transfers and warehousing operations.
- Ensure reports are submitted detailing Stock Status and Transit at SKU Level.
- Ensure warehouses are well stocked to support revenues growth whilst maintaining a minimum possible inventory, thus minimizing working capital.
- Develop or implement procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers.
- Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turnover, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
