The Deputy Project Supervisor’s primary role is that of a TL, in addition to this role the Project Supervisor will be required to act as the functional link between the APT’s and Regional Security amp; Operations Manager. They will ensure that the communication of operational, administrative and welfare matters are passed upwards and downwards in a timely and professional manner. The Deputy Project Supervisor will further ensure that operations and training minimum standards are maintained and take an active role in administrative oversight of the local national workforce. The Deputy Project Supervisor will take an active role in implementing project SOP’s and ensuring the highest possible standards are maintained across the APT’s. They will lead by example demonstrating high levels of leadership, command and control, and quality assurance. The Deputy Project Supervisor provides Operations Manager with operational tasking support and coordination, ensuring that the project can manage all client operational task requests, utilising the Control Risks’ assets. Constant liaison with the clients, Control Risks’ regional personnel is crucial for this role.
Requirements
Operational Responsibilities
- Report to the Company Security Lead daily.
- Supports and reports directly to the Company on all daily journey coordination.
- Support QA/QC of the APT fleet and personnel.
- Receive journey requests and formulate a movement schedule with available resources.
- Produce and conduct weekly training programs in accordance with project training directives, also ensuring that training records are being kept up to date.
- Conduct Risk Assessments, route and venue reports and provide support to TL’s writing reports.
- Ensure APT standards are maintained at the highest possible levels including client etiquette and protocol.
- Actively monitor APT performance identifying and reporting complacency or poor performance to the Operations Manager, mentor, and support as and when needed.
- Report any disciplinary issues to the Operations Manager and assist in investigations where required.
- Promote the importance of equipment care and ensure the implementation of the company equipment care policy.
- Monitor HSE performance across the APT’s ensuring safe conduct of duties, reporting all near misses, unsafe acts, and incidents to the project HSE representative.
- Ensure management directives are accurately communicated to APT’s within their respective groups.
- Act as the first line of management for all issues within their groups engaging higher management where necessary.
Management Responsibilities

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Minimum 4 years’ military, armed police service or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years’ Iraq APT operational experience as a Team Leader in Iraq.
- Minimum of 1 years’ APT operational experience in southern Iraq.
- Experienced in coordinating journey management in a hostile environment.
Preferred
- Attendance on an internationally regarded military Non-Commissioned Officer or similar organisational command and leadership course such as the British Army Section Commanders Battle Course (or higher).
- Previous experience working within southern headquarters and an understanding of existing department roles.
- Previously experience working with expatriate and local national staff in a management or supervisory role.
- Experience in developing and implementing standard operating procedures and security risk assessments.
