The Project Security Manager (PSM) is a senior project position covering a client contract in Baghdad Iraq. We are looking for the new PSM to start in Baghdad around start of December. This will be to complete a 5-day handover and then their first full 6 weeks rotation.
This position is a rotational role, working six weeks in Baghdad and six weeks at home. The successful candidate will be employed on a permanent contract and be paid on and off rotation.
The successful candidate must hold a German Passport and speak both fluent German and English.
Tasks and responsibilities
Security Management
- Conduct full threat and vulnerability assessment of operations in close coordination with the client and Control Risks personnel.
- Drafting and updating of client security plans and documents, including individual sites such as rig locations, well heads, and other Oamp;G infrastructure.
- Review and assess existing security arrangements, including physical security precautions, building security, journey management, incident response, evacuation planning, business support/information and training.
- In conjunction with client security and HSE teams, maintain evacuation and medical plans.
- Maintaining responsibility of managing security within the client operations and identification of threats.
- Review existing contingency plans and, where appropriate, develop and exercise these under direction and guidance of the client.
Operations Management
- Participate in and coordinate the response to emergency security calls.
- Oversight and quality control of the local guard-force, including reporting of contract manning levels to the client.
- Liaise and engage with all stakeholders within client operation to help ease relationships and understanding
- Assist and manage the security implications of upgrades to client facilities
- Develop and maintain contract Quality Assurance and Quality Capability on client operations.
Requirements
Essential
- Extensive experience in operational risk management supported by references.
- Experienced in the methodology and application of physical and personnel security risk measures.
- Must have experience of conceptualising security requirements and translating into formal written documents.
- Must be experienced in delivering presentations in a formal nature to commercial clients and informal explanations of operational capabilities.
- Be competent in the use of all Windows applications and IT literate.
- An ability to work collaboratively with local workers.
Preferred
- Good management skills, leadership skills and performance management.
- Previous consultancy knowledge and commercial security experience.
- Experience of working in a commercial organisation.
- Experience of security operations in Kurdistan and/or Iraq
Qualifications and specialist skills
Essential - Previous experience in a hostile environment (Iraq or Afghanistan)
- Previous experience of project security management or project management in other equivalent fields (military, police, functional operations)
- Project management qualifications
- Security and Risk Management qualifications
- Fluent German Speaker
- Fluent English Speaker
Preferred
- Understanding of HSE issues and qualifications.
- Security Management and Consultancy course
- SIA License Qualification or national equivalent (34a Germany)
