The Rig Site Security Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of operations pertaining to the assigned Rig Site(s) on the Schlumberger contract in line with Control Risks’ SOPs.

The Rig Site Security Manager provides security management and quality assurance to all key stakeholders on the Rig and is the primary interface between the client and the company, reporting directly to the Control Risks Project Security Manager.

Role tasks and responsibilities

• Manage Local National Guard Force (GF) members during duty periods with mentorship, supervision, and training, ensuring compliance to project and CRs SOPs.
• Supervise local national guard member shift change and report anomalies to Project Security Manager and HR Iraq.
• Coordinates all management functions and administration related to the Rig security team. Primary responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the Guard Force by completing daily reports and all administrative matters including timesheets, temporary work-force requests, GF leave requests, authorised and unauthorised absences, disciplinary procedure and pay issues.
• Provides training and mentoring to the Guard Force as specified by Control Risks and the client commensurate with the minimum standards required and exceeding them wherever possible.
• Accurately records and reports all training and mentoring to the Guard Force as specified by Control Risks.
• Manage equipment and clothing stores, initiate fault reporting and timely requests for replacement items in coordination with the Project Resource Manager.
• Coordinates vehicle maintenance and mileage returns and movement paperwork with PSM and PRM and ensures emergency response readiness.
• Assesses the security situation as it applied to the client’s Rig site and area of operation and works with the Project Security Manager to make recommendations in line with the current intelligence and analysis.
• Identifies the conditions that will influence the physical safety of the client’s personnel and their operations and liaises with the clients Rig management team making recommendations as necessary.
• Documents all recommendations via email and daily reporting.
• Conduct of site security inspections, reporting any suspected weak points on daily basis.
• Ensures all accidents and security incidents are reported immediately and investigated in line with CR and client SOPs.
• Identifies non-compliance with Control Risks’ and / or client’s policies and procedures and escalates through management appropriately, e.g. Drugs amp; Alcohol policy, Rules of Engagement etc.
• Receive, brief, and advise visiting client and sub-contracted personnel on arrival.
• Prepare and disseminate Daily Security Report.

Requirements

Essential

• Experience working in an unsupervised role on remote location with local Guard Force.
• Minimum 5 years military / police experience.
• Minimum 2 years commercial experience in Iraq.
• Fluent English speaker and writer.

Preferred

• Experience managing operations for Oamp;G clients.
• Minimum 12 months in an operational managerial role.
• Experience managing local guard force.
• Held Warrant Officer / Senior NCO rank in the military.
